I’m Craig Laprath, the owner of Apple Grove Taxidermy. We’re located in Princeton, ID, halfway between Coeur d’ Alene and Lewiston, ID, on a quiet 28 acres surrounded by over 150 apple trees. Hence the name, Apple Grove Taxidermy. After growing up in Coeur d’ Alene, I met my wife at the University of Idaho. We spent the next 15 years living across the country in states that included South Dakota, Texas, Alabama, Maryland, California, Utah and eventually back home to Idaho! I have loved every state where we’ve lived (some more than others), and I’ve been able to hunt big game in each!

Though I have worked as a helper in taxidermy shops prior, I was never able to dedicate enough time and open my own studio. Now, finally, I’m able to use my talents to dedicate more time to this art bringing your trophy back to life.

After attending the Artistic School of Taxidermy, run by nationally renown taxidermist and judge, Troy Rose, I’ve opened my own studio. As a Gold Star recipient from school I found my niche. I specialize in finish work being driven to provide the most refined, lifelike and detailed taxidermy mounts. I take the greatest enjoyment and pride in the final touches. The work that brings your trophy to life that includes the finest details of your animal.
